What's available in gloomy January?

Our 'go-to' flowers this time of year are defintely Viola's. Some of them have a delicious fragrance. Be on the lookout for Orange, Tiger's eye, Yellow, Yellow Beacon and Honeybee.

Our favourites for pressing are 'Pink Halo' and Blue.

February. The last month of winter. Hurrah!

What's growing in the greenhouse?

January and February are very difficult months to grow flowers as there just isn't enough daylight.

Look for Primroses. Some of them actually look like paper!! The wild version 'everlast' have a slightly sweet taste. Very pretty against the contrasting Grey skies.

We started the year in colour from the Antirrhinum's (Snapdragons) still flowering and towering tll thank's for the drop in temperature.

Our favourite is the double variety. (Twinney) They look pretty but the taste is not pretty. If you are using the stems and inserting them into a cake, we recommend covering the stems with clingfilm or foil to prevent any bitter flavour ruining your cake/drinks/food.
